Whitney's 4 Runner

With a baby on the way, we wanted something that would be easier to get a car seat/pregnant woman in and out of. Since my wife always wanted a 4 runner, we settled on this, in her favorite color, Blue. I had asked them not to detail it for us, but apparently I wasn't firm enough in my ask, because when we came out from signing papers, they were "Just getting the pollen off"... with dry rags. 4 miles on the odometer and scratches all over already. I had planned on giving it a quick polish before applying a coating anyway, so I wasn't too upset, since most of them were fairly light. I'll have to get outside pictures after a wash one day, but the goal was to get the car back to her as quickly as possible, so here is what I have. Enjoy!
Silver 350Z

Had a friend that was looking to detail some of his own cars and wanted some guidance on the proper technique/procedure so that he could then have more confidence when he tackled his remaining cars. I told him to bring one over and we could go through it together. Spent the entire day plus 1 minute (I believe I got him home at 12:01 am.) doing a headlight restoration and paint correction on his 350Z. Paint was in pretty good condition considering the age with only some minor swirling and clarity to be resolved. After a few corrections to arm speed, pressure and working with contours, he got the hang of it and got into a good rhythm. He did probably 90% of the real estate on this car and should be proud of the final result.
Tahoe Pre-sale Prep

This car came in for a pre-sale prep for a friend and I underestimated the time it would take to get it done, so a lot of the after pictures are missing. It's unfortunate for you all, but the customer was more than happy, so it was a win over all. If anyone is looking for something to haul the family around in, I can attest that a Tahoe has PLENTY of interior space.

This beauty was the recent addition to a friends "fleet" of vehicles. With less than 500 miles on the clock by the time our schedules coincided, he wanted me to get it to the state it should be in and protect it for the future. Overall, it was in really good condition. He asked the dealer to NOT give it their pre-purchase "detail" aka tunnel wash and wipe down, but allowed them to wipe down the interior, so any imperfections in the paint were theoretically from the factory. It had a few isolated scratches and very slight swirling. I was able to get a few 50/50 shots, but most swirls and such were very difficult to pick up on camera. Rain kept away any good outside sun shots, but hope you all enjoy!
Black Ford Raptor

The last of 4 cars from the Florida trip. This was the only daily driven vehicle of the bunch. It has a few scars, but overall is in great condition. Sporting the older 6.2 liter engine, this was my dream truck when it first came out and I loved having the chance to work on it. With a lot of real estate, I gave it an extra day to complete and thankfully, the paint worked with me to get it all done in a little over 20 hours of labor.
1987 Porsche Turbo

Car #3 from the Florida trip. A beautiful black Porsche turbo with single stage paint and curves on every panel. The way this thing reflects light can have you staring at it for hours. Rock chips were touched up, scratches removed and clarity was restored. It was a challenge for sure with tons of little pieces that required the tiny 1" buffing pads, but it was all worth it. Hope you enjoy!

Car #2 from the Florida trip. This is another rare car that you won't see everyday. I'm told this was all original minus the paint, so the utmost care was taken on the interior using minimal chemicals, while still giving it the "full treatment". As always, the paint was taken back to an outstanding finish by removing as little clear as possible to bring out as many defects as possible without ruining the integrity of the paint. If you see this bad boy on the road, consider it your lucky day because it is a unicorn in today's world.

This was car #1 from the Florida trip. An already beautiful 3 rotor pickup used by the owner to just enjoy and take to cars and coffee type events from time to time. The fact is was so meticulously maintained coupled with the white paint made it a challenge to capture the before/after pics on camera, but I think you'll still be plenty satisfied with what you'll see. The paint had some light scratches that were taken care of and an overall clarity revived to the vehicle. The interior, as you'll see, was already in "show room" condition with a very light layer of dust, but still got the full interior treatment (vacuum, steam clean, dressing).
Turbo Rx7

Here is the second Black Rx7 FD I had the opportunity to do. This car had some of the softest paint I've ever worked on. I was able to cut with a polishing compound and had to go back with an even finer polish and pad to clear up the haze. Some deeper scratches remained in the paint, but it came out looking a lot better than before. The owner needs to be careful with this one, as a slightly dirty microfiber could easily scratch it back up. Enjoy!

It was an absolute honor to be able to work on this car. This was built from the ground up in a storage unit by the owner and a few close friends using a race engine from PPRE New Zealand. They did all the work to this monster, including painting it with a local painter out of the garage, and obviously have a lot of pride in it. Once tuned, this 4 rotor beast should be putting out in the neighborhood of 1,200 hp. The fact he even let me touch it still amazes me. I had originally stopped by just to see it after hearing he had it running. After seeing and hearing about the troubles he was having getting the paint to look right, I knew I had to come back in town to help this race car look hopefully half as good as it will be fast. The owner had tried to sand his own paint job in order to minimize orange peel, unfortunately left some deep scratches and had a local detailer follow up, leaving scratches of their own as well. Needless to say, I had to be careful with my sanding. With various body panels consisting of Carbon Fiber, Metal, Plastic and Fiberglass, each section required a different technique as well.
Cams Old Jeep

I had the honor of working on this jeep for my friend's family. It's a jeep, so perfection wasn't the goal with this one, but the car brought back a lot of memories. Cam and I spent our college years getting into trouble in this car and it has seen more than it's fair share of abuse. There was mud that somehow found it's way inside the A/C ducting, plenty of body damage from rocks, trees, etc. while off-roading and salt stains from both years of life as an athlete and winters in the snow.

This is the 3rd and final car from my trip to Huntsville. Same make/model/color as car #2, but a year newer. They all got the same "package" so to speak with 20+ hours invested in each car. Unfortunately, like the other true red MS3, it was raining when I finished, so I wasn't able to get better pictures in the sun. Enjoy!

Car #2 of 3 from my trip to Huntsville belongs to a friend of mine. They took good care of the inside, but this thing had unfortunately seen more than it's fair share of "tunnel washes" and needed a little TLC. We didn't want to get into too much wet sanding, but were able to remove ~80% of the imperfections while restoring an amazing gloss. The true red color on this glowed like a highlighter when I was done with it and the customer is more than happy.

I made a trip out of town to detail 3 cars for some of my buddies from a car group I'm a part of. This was the first project I tackled. It is a silver Mazdaspeed 6 AWD sleeper with a built block and bigger turbo. The owner was able to pick this up for a steal of a bargain and wanted to see what I could do. There are plenty of little things on here that can only be fixed with some body work and/or a repaint, but for the most part she came out looking years younger than she is. Crayons and cigarettes are only some of the things I pulled out of here. Enjoy the pics!

This car was supposed to be a new car preservation, but ended up needing a full paint correction. It's only washes were done by the dealer and the paint was telling. Straight off the showroom floor, scratches and swirls covered every inch of this vehicle. Since we were already going to have to do some cutting and buffing, we decided to remove the pin striping while we were at it and top it off with the latest from GTechniq's line of coatings, Crystal Serum light for the prosumer market and EXO. Now this beauty should stay protected for the next few years and provide the owner with amazingly easy washes.

This is my pride and joy. The first car I ever bought for myself and the first car I ever had the pleasure of modifying. It's hard to believe, but this car has racked up 30k+/year on the odometer, consisting of everything from runs on the drag strip, to full blown track days and autoX weekends. It's life has been far from that of a show car, but that doesn't mean she can't shine.

My parents were nice enough to give me this car when my now wife's car broke down and left her without anything to drive. It was mainly used by my father to ride to and from work when the weather didn't allow him to ride his motorcycle. My mom wasn't a fan of the way it rode and after finding out the trade in value, it became a spare vehicle. They decided to keep it to drive the dogs around in and run errands they didn't want to do with the nicer cars. To say it was neglected was an understatement; It had scratches all over the paint, dog hair throughout and stains in the trunk. I wanted this to be something my wife was proud be seen in, so I detailed it for her and began my obsession. I originally detailed this car with a cheap orbital "buffer" from the local auto store and a lot of elbow grease. After getting into detailing more, I decided to go back and see what I could do with proper equipment. I'm including pictures from both attempts, to show the difference between how it came to me, vs now.

This beauty was brought to me by a good friend. His family life was changing and had another on the way. This required him to move on to something bigger to fit his growing family. He was looking for a quick freshen up of the outside in preperation of sale and asked me to do it for him. The blue paint really popped on this bad boy and helped it to sell in under a week for well over KBB value.
